Rover Desk - Caio Superchi for Le Taudis
“What to design in a world of plenty?” Hella Jongerius asked the question, and at Le Taudis , we took it seriously. We wanted a piece that tells a story, that goes beyond the object itself. That’s where Caio Superchi comes in, a young Brazilian craftsman based in Lisbon, a guy who sees beauty where others only see breakage. We have the same obsessions: reinventing the old, believing in the potential of forgotten materials, and that’s what we get.
A Land Rover door, weathered by the years, polished to reveal chrome metal. A base that speaks of dusty roads and endless journeys. Placed on a solid rosewood structure, it is the raw encounter between two worlds: steel and wood, the mechanical and the organic. A piece that embodies our vision: to make design a field of expression, not a style exercise.
This Rover Desk is not just for writing notes or putting down your coffee. It is a statement: at Le Taudis, we believe in great projects. Those that take their time, that tell the story of the hands that made them, the materials that compose them, and the lives they will cross. So here it is, a unique piece that carries all that within it. The beginning of a great story, which, as always, begins at Le Taudis.
