Ataru Sato - Super Sensitive
Published on the occasion of Ataru Sato 's solo exhibition, "111 / triple one", at KOSAKU KANECHIKA gallery in Tokyo, Super Sensitive brings together the artist's work from 2008 to 2021. A graduate of the University of Kyoto Arts, Sato deconstructs his emotions - fear, lust, romance, etc. - through drawing.
Each dense work draws on memory to remake, or rework, a feeling and within his complete oeuvre we find an artist endowed with a rare inner insight.
Super Sensitive , which will be the artist's first publication since 2009, contains this conversation, an introduction by Keiichi Tanami , and 115 works.
Each is relatively small—Sato sleeps, lives, and works in the same space—and all the three-dimensional drawings, paintings, and boxes strive to make sense of self, humanity, and the world to some extent.
